Here you see another magnificent coin from the renowned Australian mint, “The Perth Mint.” This is the eighth edition of the “The Gold Swan” series, cherished by collectors and investors alike. At the heart of the Western Australia coat of arms, a state in Australia, is a black swan. Given that this coin has a limited mintage of only 5,000 pieces, it is certainly of particular interest to you!

Obverse

You can see a swan swimming in the water with its wings raised. The movement creates water droplets and very prominent waves around the bird. Just above the water surface, on the right, you can read “P125,” marking the 125th anniversary of The Perth Mint. Around the edge of this reeded coin, you will see the inscription: “1 oz 9999 AUSTRALIAN GOLD SWAN 2024.”

Reverse

It shows the portrait of the current British King Charles III, who, unlike the previous Queen Elizabeth II, is looking to the left. On close inspection, you can see the initials “DT” on the right, indicating the designer of the royal portrait. Surrounding his portrait is the inscription “CHARLES III AUSTRALIA” along with “100 DOLLARS,” denoting the face value of the coin with a fine weight of 31.1035g.

As Australia is part of the Commonwealth, this mint is essentially the English “branch” of the “Royal Mint” and is owned by the “Gold Corporation,” a state-owned Australian precious metals enterprise. Founded in 1899, it is the oldest mint in Australia. Located in Western Australia’s Perth, it currently produces various products—mainly bullion coins—made of precious metals such as gold, silver, platinum, and palladium.
